TPCP's stories are told in collaboration, not in isolation, connecting a rotating roster of guest conductors and collaborators with excellent voice talent from here in the Twin Ports. This season we partner with Borealis Chamber Artists and The College of St. Scholastica Music Program on Handel's Messiah, including our annual community singalong, and we maintain ongoing relationships with Lyric Opera of the North and DSSO Maestro Dirk Meyer, the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, and many middle and high school choral programs local to the Northland. Showcasing that collaboration in the regional choral community has brought invitations to perform at Minnesota Public Radio's Harmony in the Park, the American Choral Directors Association's Minnesota State Conference and North Central Regional Conference, and a feature on MPR's "Friday Favorites."

Every TPCP program starts with a story worth telling and meaning worth remembering. This season opens commemorating our nation’s 250th anniversary with The American Road, Shawn Okpebholo's choral suite reimagining American folk songs, hymns, and spirituals into a portrait of sacrifice, resilience, and hope. Handel's Messiah returns in December in partnership with Borealis Chamber Artists, led by Patrick Russell, featuring a free Messiah selections sing-along performance open the community, as well as a concert performance of the work in it’s entirety the following weekend. In the spring, TPCP takes on Joby Talbot's Piedra de Sol under the direction of Dr. Richard Carrick; a 70-minute work for choir and marimba setting Nobel laureate Octavio Paz's epic poem as a single, circular journey through love, memory, history, and renewal. It's this same tradition of ambitious storytelling that has carried TPCP through J.S. Bach's St. John Passion and the reprise of Considering Matthew Shepard at the historic NorShore Theatre.

TPCP's stories are told to reach beyond the concert hall. Our conductors and musicians lead clinics with school choirs across Minnesota, working directly with young singers and their directors to build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of ensemble singing, enriching not just an audience, but the next generation of singers in our region. May 2027, TPCP looks forward to joining choir students from Superior Middle School and Duluth’s Lincoln Middle School in collaborative performances to promote continued musical engagement in their education.
