Richard Carrick
Executive Director, Co-Artistic Director
Richard Carrick is a conductor, clinician, singer, and educator. He is the Director of Choral Activities at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, Director of Music at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, Chorus Master for the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, and a founding member and conductor of the Borealis Chamber Artists. Richard holds a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of Washington where he studied with Geoffrey Boers and Giselle Wyers. When not working with choirs, Richard can be found on a trail somewhere in the woods, or baking with his children.
Patrick Russell
Managing Director, Co-Artistic Director
Patrick Russell is a conductor, pianist, singer, composer, and educator. As Director of Music at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Duluth, he directs the choir and plays regularly for services, including the harpsichord every chance he gets. He began teaching piano and voice at Encore Music Studios in Duluth this fall, and specializes in audition coaching. He regularly accompanies soloists, cabarets, and choirs, and is a founding member of the Twin Ports Choral Project. Patrick is an active theater artist in the Duluth area as a music director, pianist, and actor at venues including the Duluth Playhouse, UMD, UWS, CSS, and Renegade Theater Company.
Brian Kapp
Development Director, Co-Artistic Director
Brian Kapp is the owner and operator of Encore Music Studios, and an instructor of Voice, Piano, and Organ. He is a native of central and southern Illinois, holding a Bachelor of Music degree in Keyboard Performance from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Master of Arts degree in Liturgical Music with an emphasis in Voice Performance from St. John's University in Collegeville, MN. As a musician, Brian has served in many capacities across Southern Illinois and throughout Minnesota. He is Organist/Pianist at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary in Duluth, and is accompanist of the dementia-friendly community choir, The Victory Chorus.
Borealis Organizational Support Staff
David Greenberg has spent his life making music that moves people emotionally and building trust through honest marketing and consulting. He’s dedicated to building a career in the arts through singing, voice acting, media creation, and marketing strategy. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Superior, he has been featured on stage with Lyric Opera of the North, Wise Fool Shakespeare Company, Duluth Playhouse, Arrowhead Chorale, Twin Ports Choral Project, and Borealis Chamber Artists. David Greenberg
Marketing & Technology Coordinator
Tasha Kapp is a Minnesota native, and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Minnesota Duluth. In her voice career, has attended the Tanglewood Institute, performed on NPR's From the Top, and been a featured soloist with the Arrowhead Chorale, Arrowhead Guild of Organists, Borealis Chamber Artists, Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra (DSSO), Friends of the Felgemaker, Twin Ports Choral Project, and Victory Chorus. She is a current member of the Strikepoint Handbell Ensemble and holds the position of Chorus Administrator for the DSSO. Outside of her professional commitments, Tasha enjoys spending time with her husband and cats, tending to her collection of houseplants, and engaging in various crafting activities
