On Sunday, December 22nd at 1pm, Borealis Chamber Artists will perform the entirety of Handel’s Messiah at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. This concert is a part of the Cathedral Music Series. To attend the event, we invite audience members to reserve their tickets and suggest a $10 donation to the music series. The Little Match Girl

Women of Note
This concert shines a spotlight on the brilliance of women composers, both past and present. Rediscover the works of Clara Schumann, a pioneer of the Romantic era, and the captivating melodies of Fanny Mendelssohn, the overshadowed sister of Felix, but arguably the better composer and musician. Journey through the 20th and 21st centuries with the evocative compositions of Libby Larsen, the lush Romanticism of Amy Beach, and the captivating music of Duluth’s own, Wendy Durrwachter. Prepare to be inspired by these talented women who defied limitations and left their mark on the world of classical music.

Sweet Bird
Handel’s Sweet Bird, and Bach’s Sonata No. 4
Join us at the beautiful Pilgrim Congregational Church in Duluth on February 18 at 3 pm as the Borealis Chamber Artists present a concert highlighting George Frideric Handel's Sweet Bird and Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonata No. 4. In this performance, accomplished soloists explore the stylistic nuances of these compositions.
The concert opens with Handel's "Sweet Bird," featuring soprano soloist Tasha Kapp, with Brian Kapp on keyboard and Melanie Sever on flute. Transitioning to Bach's Sonata No. 4, the spotlight shifts to Erin Aldridge on the violin, with Patrick Russell on harpsichord. The deliberate juxtaposition of Handel's vocal and instrumental textures with Bach's sonata fosters a dialogue, cultivating an appreciation for the distinctive elements of the Baroque musical tradition. These pieces, along with several other complementary works from the period promises to deliver a memorable afternoon of music.
